Afternoon. Sweltering heat. Torchbearers exit a bus in advance, waiting on their turn to wield the torch.

Time has fallen asleep in the afternoon sunshine. All that matters on this day, in this country, is a flame. A flame of excellence, friendship and respect.

Today is the first time in history, in a city that never sleeps, that I have seen society stop, and just enjoy the moment.

The sun sets in the land of the rising sun. Countryside. Unforgettable.
